Resin Art Workshop | Colourful Wine

Looking for a Resin Art Workshop in Sydney where you can create something beautiful, practical and completely unique?

Join us at Colourful Wine Art Café & Bar for a relaxed, hands-on resin art experience where you’ll experiment with colour, movement and design while creating your own functional piece to take home.

Choose from a resin cheeseboard, set of four coasters or round serving tray, then select your colours and create a design that’s completely your own.

No previous resin experience is needed.

We’ll guide you through the process step by step, from choosing and mixing your colours through to pouring and creating the beautiful flowing effects that make resin art so satisfying.

Every resin pour develops differently, which means no two finished pieces are ever exactly alike.

Choose What You’d Like to Create

One of the best things about our Resin Art Workshop is that you can choose the project that suits you.

Resin Cheeseboard – $60

Create your own decorative resin cheeseboard using colours selected by you.

We’ll show you how to combine your resin colours and create flowing patterns across the board while still allowing the natural timber to remain part of the design.

The result is a practical serving piece that also feels like an original artwork.

Use it when entertaining, display it at home or create it as a handmade gift for someone special.

Set of 4 Resin Coasters – $60

Prefer something smaller?

Create a matching — or deliberately mismatched — set of four resin coasters.

Experiment with different colour combinations, movement and effects across each piece.

You can keep the four coasters within the same colour palette for a coordinated set or give each one its own personality.

Because resin naturally moves and blends as you work, every coaster develops its own pattern.

Round Resin Serving Tray – $150

For a larger statement piece, choose our round serving tray.

The larger surface gives you more room to experiment with colour, movement and composition, creating a striking functional artwork for your home.

Your tray can be designed around your own interior colours, favourite palette or simply whatever inspires you on the day.

This option uses significantly more materials and resin than the smaller projects, which is reflected in the ticket price.

Discover the Beauty of Resin Art

Resin is unlike traditional painting.

Instead of controlling every brushstroke, you’ll work with a fluid medium that moves, flows and interacts with the colours around it.

That’s part of what makes the process so interesting.

You’ll pour, guide and manipulate your resin to create patterns and movement across your chosen surface.

Some colours will blend softly.

Others will create stronger contrast.

Small changes in how you pour and move the resin can produce completely different results.

There isn’t one “correct” finished design.

The process is about learning how the material behaves and then working with it to create something that’s uniquely yours.

Choose Your Own Colour Palette

Your resin artwork doesn’t need to look like our samples.

Before you begin, you’ll choose the colours you’d like to work with.

Perhaps you love coastal blues and whites.

Maybe you prefer soft neutrals, rich greens, dramatic black and gold tones or something bright and colourful.

You can choose a palette that suits your home, coordinate with someone’s favourite colours if you’re creating a gift, or simply select the combination you’re drawn to on the day.

We’ll help you think about which colours work well together and how different combinations may behave once they’re poured.

Learn Resin Techniques Step by Step

If you’ve never worked with resin before, don’t worry.

We’ll take you through the process in manageable stages.

During the workshop, you’ll learn about:

  • Preparing your chosen surface
  • Working safely with resin
  • Mixing resin correctly
  • Adding and combining colour
  • Planning your colour palette
  • Pouring resin onto your piece
  • Creating movement and flowing effects
  • Working with different colour densities
  • Building your composition
  • Removing unwanted air bubbles
  • Understanding how resin continues to move after pouring
  • Allowing your finished piece to cure correctly

We’ll demonstrate the process and be available throughout the session to guide you.

Perfect for Beginners

You don’t need any previous art or resin experience to join us.

Our Resin Art Workshop is designed for beginners and creative guests who simply want to try something different.

Resin can look technical when you first see the finished results, but once the process is broken down into stages it becomes much easier to understand.

We’ll explain what you’re doing and why, then help you through your own pour.

And because resin naturally creates organic patterns, you don’t need drawing or painting skills to achieve a beautiful result.

In fact, some of the most interesting effects happen when the resin does something slightly unexpected.

Your Artwork Will Be Completely Unique

One of the reasons we love resin art is that it can’t be perfectly replicated.

Even if two people choose exactly the same colours, their finished pieces will still develop differently.

The way you pour.

The direction you move the resin.

The amount of each colour you use.

The way those colours interact.

All of these little decisions influence the final result.

You’ll leave with a piece that genuinely belongs to you — not a mass-produced design and not an exact copy of someone else’s artwork.

What’s Included?

Your workshop ticket includes everything required for your selected project.

Depending on the option you choose, you’ll receive:

  • Cheeseboard, four coasters or round serving tray
  • Resin and hardener
  • Colour pigments and selected decorative materials
  • Mixing and pouring equipment
  • Protective equipment for use during the workshop
  • Step-by-step resin guidance
  • Demonstrations throughout the process
  • Use of workshop tools and equipment
  • Your completed resin artwork once cured

There are no additional art materials you need to purchase during the workshop.

Important – Your Resin Needs Time to Cure

Resin artwork cannot be taken home immediately after the workshop.

Your finished piece needs to remain flat and undisturbed while the resin cures.

We’ll keep your artwork safely at Colourful Wine after the session and let you know when it is ready to collect.

Please make sure you can return to Colourful Wine in Tallawong to collect your finished piece.

We’ll also explain how to care for your resin artwork so you can enjoy it for years to come.

A Creative Experience With a Difference

If you’ve already tried painting workshops and want to experiment with another creative medium, resin art is a wonderful next step.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about watching the colours move across the surface and gradually become a design you couldn’t have planned exactly beforehand.

The experience is hands-on, experimental and a little unpredictable.

That’s what makes it fun.

Come with friends, organise a creative date, celebrate a birthday or simply book yourself a place and spend some time making something for your home.

Solo guests are absolutely welcome.
