No previous candle-making experience is needed. We’ll provide all the materials, equipment and step-by-step guidance, so you can simply settle in and enjoy creating.

Create Your Own Botanical Soy Candle

Your workshop begins with the foundations of candle making.

We’ll introduce you to the different components that go into creating a scented soy candle and guide you through preparing your candle vessel and wick.

You’ll work with soy wax, select your fragrance and learn how the different elements come together to create your candle.

We’ll explain each stage as we go, including why details such as temperature, fragrance and pouring technique play a role in the finished result.

There’s no need to arrive knowing anything about candle making.

We’ll take you through it one step at a time, giving you the opportunity to learn the process while enjoying a relaxed and social workshop environment.

You’ll work with a selection of carefully chosen decorative botanical elements to create a beautiful finish inspired by flowers and nature.

Our sample candle will be there for inspiration, but your finished candle doesn’t need to look exactly like ours.

Keep your design simple and elegant or add a little more detail.

Experiment with placement and composition and decide how you’d like your finished candle to look.

We’ll guide you through the decorating process so you can create a botanical-inspired finish that feels balanced, beautiful and uniquely yours.

Learn the Basics of Soy Candle Making

Our Botanical Candle Workshop is designed as an enjoyable creative experience rather than an advanced technical candle-making course, but you’ll still learn plenty about the process along the way.

During the workshop, we’ll guide you through:

Caring for Your Handmade Candle

Your candle-making experience doesn’t quite end when the workshop does.

Freshly poured soy candles need time to cool and cure before they’re ready for their first burn.

We’ll explain the recommended curing period during your workshop and give you guidance on caring for your candle once you take it home.

You’ll also learn some simple candle-care practices, including wick care and how to encourage an even burn.

Giving your handmade candle the right care will help you get the best experience from your creation.

So although it might be tempting to light it straight away, give it the time it needs first.

Good things are worth waiting for.
