Our flamingo is the star of the show.

We’ll begin by working through the main composition and shapes before gradually developing the bird and its distinctive features.

Rather than worrying about complicated drawing techniques, we’ll show you how to approach the flamingo in simple stages.

You’ll gradually build the body, neck and head before introducing different shades of pink to create depth and dimension.

As the layers develop and the smaller details are added, you’ll see your flamingo begin to take on a personality of its own.

Some will look elegant.

Some may look curious.

And we’re fairly certain a few will develop a little attitude along the way.

That’s all part of the fun.

Throughout the painting, you’ll experiment with different shades and tones to give your flamingo depth.
