And although the finished artwork looks striking, you don’t need to consider yourself an artist to join us.

We’ll guide you through the painting step by step, making this a relaxed and beginner-friendly way to spend Halloween doing something creative and different.

Whether you’re coming with friends, planning a Halloween date night or simply love atmospheric landscapes, this is your chance to switch off for a couple of hours and create your own mysterious forest after dark.

Paint a Mysterious Forest After Dark

Your Haunted Forest begins with the night sky.

We’ll start by building the background using layers of colour to create an atmospheric glow and a sense of depth across the canvas.

From there, you’ll create the moon and begin introducing darker tones to transform your background into a dramatic night-time scene.

Then it’s time to build the forest.

You’ll gradually add silhouetted trees, branches and layers of shadow, working from the background towards the foreground to give your painting depth and dimension.

As the darker details are added, you’ll see your mysterious woodland scene begin to emerge.

The contrast between the glowing sky and dark forest creates a dramatic finished artwork without requiring complicated drawing or advanced painting techniques.

Haunted Forest isn’t a technical art class, but you’ll naturally experiment with several useful painting techniques while creating your artwork.

During the session, we’ll show you how to:

Change the shapes of your branches, add extra stars, introduce mist or experiment with your own mysterious little details.

Our sample artwork will be there for inspiration and we’ll guide you throughout the session, but you’ll have plenty of opportunity to make creative decisions of your own.

Costumes aren’t required.

And if your tree leans differently, your moon is larger or your forest takes on a completely different personality?

That’s part of the fun.

You don’t need previous painting experience or any special artistic skills to join us.

At Colourful Wine Art Café & Bar, we believe creativity should feel enjoyable and approachable — even if you haven’t picked up a paintbrush since school.

Our Paint and Sip sessions are designed to give you time away from the everyday, try something creative and enjoy a relaxed social experience while making an artwork of your own.

There’s no expectation of perfection.

Some guests carefully follow our sample while others change colours, add details and take their painting in a completely different direction.

Both are welcome.

We’re located in Tallawong in Sydney’s north-west, making our Paint and Sip sessions convenient for guests from Rouse Hill, Schofields, Riverstone, Kellyville, The Ponds, Box Hill, Marsden Park, Castle Hill and surrounding areas.
