Lemons by the Sea – 3D Mixed Media Art Workshop

Looking for an art experience that’s a little different from a traditional painting class?

Welcome to Lemons by the Sea, a Mediterranean-inspired 3D mixed media art workshop in Sydney where painting and sculptural details come together to create a beautiful piece of dimensional wall art.

Inspired by sunny Mediterranean coastlines, brilliant blue water and fresh citrus, this relaxed workshop is all about slowing down, getting creative and making something you’ll genuinely want to display at home.

And you don’t need to consider yourself an artist to join us.

We’ll guide you through each stage, so beginners are absolutely welcome.

Paint Your Mediterranean Escape

Your artwork begins on a 30×40 cm art panel, giving us a strong surface for creating our dimensional design.

You’ll create a simple Mediterranean-inspired background featuring beautiful blues, a peaceful sea and a small island in the distance.

The painting has intentionally been designed to be achievable rather than overly detailed. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to add your own personality while still being able to relax and enjoy the process.

Once your painted background starts coming together, it’s time for the part that makes this workshop different.

Bring Your Artwork to Life in 3D

You’ll receive a selection of specially prepared plaster lemon and leaf pieces to transform with paint.

Experiment with shades of sunny yellow and fresh greens before arranging your pieces over your painted background.

You’ll then create your composition and attach the dimensional elements to your panel.

The combination of painting and raised plaster details creates an artwork with depth, texture and personality that looks completely different from a standard canvas painting.

It’s part painting, part craft and part home décor.

Make It Your Own

Your finished artwork doesn’t need to look exactly like ours.

Choose your shades of blue. Change the placement of your lemons. Make your greens lighter or darker. Add your own little details to the sea or sky.

Our sample artwork will be there for inspiration, and we’ll guide you throughout the session, but we want your finished piece to feel like your Mediterranean escape.
