Creative School Holiday Workshops for kids (5-12) | Colourful Wine

Creative School Holiday Workshop – 20 January 2026

Fairy Garden & Woodland Watcher

Let imagination bloom this summer with Colourful Wine Art Café’s Creative School Holiday Workshops! 🌸
Our school holiday workshops are all about helping kids express themselves through art while enjoying a fun, relaxed, and social experience. Every Tuesday in January, we bring new themes that spark creativity, build confidence, and create wonderful holiday memories.

Parents can unwind with coffee, cake, or wine in our cosy café while the kids dive into a world of colour, texture, and clay. Each workshop is small, welcoming, and designed to suit different ages and skill levels.

For Tuesday, 20 January 2026, our sessions capture the magic of nature:
🧚 Little Makers (5–8 yrs): Fairy Garden
🦉 Creative Makers (9–12 yrs): Woodland Watcher

🧚 Morning Session – Little Makers (5–8 yrs): “Fairy Garden”

🕙 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM 💵 $45 (all materials included)

Step into a miniature world of wonder! In this Fairy Garden kids art class, children create a small clay garden filled with fairies, toadstools, flowers, and butterflies. Using colourful foam clay, natural textures, and plenty of imagination, kids design their own enchanting fairy scene to display at home.

This school holiday workshop is all about creativity, focus, and storytelling. Each child is guided by Dominique, who helps them explore shape, pattern, and design while developing confidence and artistic skills. The process is hands-on and rewarding — ideal for young children who love tactile play.

🌸 What they’ll learn:

  • How to sculpt small details with foam clay

  • Creating balanced colour palettes inspired by nature

  • Building patience, attention to detail, and imaginative thinking

By the end of the session, every child takes home a bright, whimsical Fairy Garden — a handmade artwork full of joy and magic.

Parents can relax nearby in the café while enjoying a drink or sweet treat. It’s the perfect way to spend a morning together while your little maker learns, plays, and creates.

🦉 Afternoon Session – Creative Makers (9–12 yrs): “Woodland Watcher”

🕐 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM 💵 $45 (all materials included)

Older kids will love this detailed, nature-inspired creative workshop! In “Woodland Watcher,” children design a forest-themed clay frame featuring owls, trees, mushrooms, and leaves. Each participant creates their own interpretation of a peaceful woodland scene, focusing on structure, texture, and fine detail.

This school holiday workshop encourages observation and mindfulness. Dominique introduces concepts like balance, layering, and natural composition — all taught through fun, easy steps that allow kids to explore independently.

🌲 Key takeaways:

  • Learn to use contrast, shape, and pattern to create depth

  • Practice 3D composition and colour harmony

  • Build patience, focus, and confidence through guided creativity

By the end of the session, each young artist leaves with a completed Woodland Watcher frame — a calm, nature-filled creation that reflects their personality and artistic growth.

Parents often tell us they love seeing their child’s face light up when they reveal their finished artwork. It’s not just a craft; it’s a memory of creative joy that lasts long after the school holidays end.
